Job Description:

As a Financial Controller at dua.com, you will play a critical role in the financial management and strategic direction of our company. Your responsibilities will extend beyond traditional accounting tasks, as you will be integral in shaping our financial strategies and supporting our growth in the tech-driven dating industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy and Analysis: Develop financial strategies that align with our company’s goals, especially in the context of a rapidly evolving dating industry. Perform in-depth financial analysis to guide decision-making and identify opportunities for growth and innovation within the dating sector.
  • Cash Management: Oversee the company’s cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations and strategic initiatives. Monitor daily/weekly cash transactions and forecast future cash requirements, optimizing the management of working capital.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the budgeting for product development, including software enhancements, platform scalability, and new feature rollouts. Ensure optimal allocation of resources to maximize technological advancements and user experience.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize financial data to provide insights on user acquisition costs, lifetime value of customers, and other key metrics crucial to the dating industry. Collaborate with the marketing, strategy and product development teams to align financial insights with user engagement strategies.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Evaluate and manage financial risks, particularly those unique to the tech and online dating sectors. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including data privacy standards.
  • Accounting Management: Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of financial records, ensuring all accounting operations align with international standards and best practices.
  • Auditing and Financial Integrity: Conduct comprehensive audits to verify the correctness and compliance of financial statements and practices, maintaining the highest level of financial integrity and transparency.
  • Statutory Reporting and Compliance: Manage the preparation and timely submission of all statutory reports, ensuring they adhere to regional and international financial regulations and standards.
  • Operational Efficiency: Streamline financial processes and systems to support the fast-paced nature of a tech startup. Implement efficient financial operations that support rapid scaling and adaptability.
  • Expertise in Financial Software: Proficient in using accounting and financial management software, especially QuickBooks and/or Bexio. This includes experience in setting up, managing, and optimizing these systems for streamlined financial operations.
  • Automation and Integration: Skilled in automating financial processes using these tools. Ability to integrate financial software with other business systems (like ERP, Databox) to enhance data accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and/or HelpScout: Utilize JIRA for project management and HelpScout for handling financial-related customer queries, ensuring effective tracking and resolution of issues.
  • Team Leadership: Represent effectively the finance team. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development, ensuring the team remains abreast of the latest financial practices relevant to the tech and dating industries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of financial management experience, with a strong preference for experience in the tech industries.
  • Proficient in financial software and advanced Excel skills. Experience with financial modeling and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with an ability to present financial information clearly and persuasively.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and handle complex
  • financial matters in a fast-paced environment.
