In December 2023, two Albanians on opposite shores of the Adriatic met on dua.com, an app designed to connect Albanians around the world.
Today they live under one roof in Italy, married and with plans to enjoy the world together. The story of Arsim and Senada shows that when you find the right person, distance, documents, and even prejudices cannot stop you.
Two Paths That Meet Across the Adriatic
Arsim, a 31-year-old from Suhareka, Kosovo, emigrated to Italy in 2022 for work. Tireless, full of energy and proud of his roots, he makes a promise to himself: to find an Albanian woman — just as his heart desires.
Senada, a 30-year-old from Ulcinj, is proud of her Albanian heritage. A smiling and hardworking saleswoman, she carefully preserves Albanian traditions while building her life in Montenegro. She’s ready to meet the man of her dreams and open to everything love has to offer.
From a TikTok Video to the First “Match
Tired after his work shift, Arsim is browsing TikTok on his couch when a short video from dua.com catches his attention: “We unite Albanians around the world.”
He immediately installs the app, greeted by a welcome screen displaying the red-and-black Albanian flag and his first batch of likes.
Driven by curiosity and wanting to explore more, he decides to upgrade to Premium. Within just a few minutes, he converts three likes into matches.
One of them is Senada. Just one glance at her photo makes Arsim feel an instant special connection, and without hesitation, he writes, “Qiao.”
The Christmas Gift and the Archive of Love
Their real conversation began on the festive evening of December 25. “We became each other’s Christmas gift,” they now jokingly say.
After two weeks of warm exchanges in the app, they’re convinced they’ve found the right person.
Before moving their conversations to WhatsApp and Instagram, they carefully save every message—a little archive of emotions—and then delete the app, symbolizing that dua.com had fulfilled its mission.
The first date: risking it all for love
On March 29, 2024, Arsim sets off from Italy to Ulcinj without complete documents. He risks his job and even his ability to return—just to meet Senada.
“I don’t care if they don’t let you go back. Together we’ll make it anywhere,” she calmly tells him when he explains the risk.
Then she adds: “If they don’t let you return, I’ll even move to Kosovo—I’m with you from today onward, no matter where.”
They spend a weekend by the sea, enjoying coffee, laughter, and taking photos as memories.
Engaged and Married in One Day
From their very first meeting, they couldn’t stay apart. Every day they spoke, planned their future, and began creating space for the family they dreamed of.
Then the decisive moment arrived. On August 19, 2024, in Ulcinj, the couple got engaged and married on the same day at the mosque, surrounded by family and friends.
Senada wore the traditional Ulcinj costume, honoring Albanian family traditions preserved through generations, turning this moment into an unforgettable memory for the couple. The photos from that day are now their favorite album.
A Dream Without Borders: Life Today in Italy
Since February 11, 2025, Senada has relocated to Portogruaro, Italy.
The couple now enjoys adventures through Italian cities, plans to start a family, and carefully documents every memory through videos and TikTok.
“From the moment I deleted the app, dua.com had completed its mission for us,” says Arsim with a big smile.
Nevertheless, they decided to share their story to encourage everyone who is still searching for love.
Advice for Other Hearts
Senada recalls how easy and secure she felt using the app:
“I had complete control every step of the way and made the best decision of my life.”
“Don’t be afraid of distance—if there’s sincerity, it only strengthens love.” — Senada
Arsim adds that they are sharing their story as a gift to themselves and as gratitude to their “matchmaker,” dua.com.
His advice for new couples: “Save your first conversations—they’re the treasure that will always bring you back to the beginning.”
