Gazmendi & Vjosana

Gazmendi from Skopje and Vjosana from Klina never imagined that love would find them through a screen. He was skeptical, and she had a profile without a photo—yet something kept both of them from giving up. Today they live in Germany with their twin sons, building a life that began with a simple like on dua.com.

Gazmendi, 30, is from Skopje in North Macedonia. Calm, patient and deeply family-oriented, he is described by Vjosana as an example for the family—someone who speaks little about himself but whose actions say more than words.

Vjosana, 27, was born in Germany during the Kosovo war. Her family returned to Kosovo after the war, but her mother later decided to send the children back to Germany in search of a better life. Vjosana spent five years in Kosovo with only her sister and without their parents nearby. Those years were difficult, but they made her independent and ready for what life had in store.

After returning to Germany, Vjosana worked temporarily as a nanny while preparing to continue her vocational training. She was determined and successful, but something was still missing.

Gazmendi had often seen dua.com on social media, but he was not convinced. Like many people, he wondered, “Who finds someone through a phone?” One day he installed the app with no expectations and no plan—only curiosity.

Vjosana was attending a German-language course when the app appeared on TikTok. She decided to try it. Her profile was simple, without even a photo—just her name and a few basic details.

She registered on March 23, 2023. One day later, on March 24, she liked Gazmendi’s profile. One day was all it took.

Gazmendi saw the empty profile and briefly considered passing it by. Something stopped him—he still cannot explain what—and he decided to write to her. Neither of them knew that this first message would change their lives.

They began with short messages and simple questions: How are you? What do you do? Where do you live? Slowly, word by word, their conversations deepened. They began talking about family, hardships and things they would not share with just anyone.

After one week, they moved to Snapchat and the rhythm changed. They spoke every morning, every evening and every night. It was no longer simply a new acquaintance; it was something beginning to take shape.

Although calm by nature, Gazmendi sensed that this conversation was different. Vjosana had a sincerity he rarely found in others. She spoke without masks, games or expectations.

Vjosana, meanwhile, discovered someone who truly listened—not only to her words, but also to her silences. Gazmendi thought before he spoke and cared without needing to announce it. For five months, their relationship existed entirely through a screen. They had never met or looked into each other’s eyes; they had only their voices, words and the trust that grew each day.

Just when everything seemed to be going well, something changed.

Gazmendi suddenly began to pull away. His messages became less frequent and then stopped completely. He told Vjosana he was in the hospital, but that was not true.

The truth was both simpler and more complicated: Gazmendi was falling in love, and it frightened him.

We often hear about women becoming afraid when feelings turn serious, but the same happens to men—even good men. Gazmendi felt this connection pulling him with a force he had not expected. Everything seemed so natural, so right and so precise that it became frightening. When something feels like a film, the mind asks: Is this real? Am I ready? Do I truly want to open my heart this much?

For two weeks, Gazmendi wrestled with doubt, fear of failure and the question of whether he was ready for the responsibility of real love. “I did not want to hurt Vjosana. I needed to be sure this was right.”

For Vjosana, those two weeks were among the hardest. Every day without a message felt longer than the last. She did not know what was happening; she knew only that the silence hurt. Still, an inner voice told her this connection was different and that Gazmendi was worth waiting for, even without guarantees.

She decided not to give up. When Gazmendi returned, he came back wholeheartedly and with determination. Not every question had been answered, but two weeks without Vjosana had given him the clearest answer of all: life without her felt emptier than the risk of love.

After five months of communicating only online, the day came when they would finally stand face to face.

August 3. Pristina. Gazmendi knew within seconds.

“From our first meeting, I knew Vjosana was the one. I fell in love the moment we met.”

Vjosana came to Pristina for their first date. She did not tell her family she was meeting Gazmendi; she said she was going out with her cousins. Unfortunately, those cousins happened to be visiting Vjosana’s family home that evening.

Ten days later, while the family was on holiday, Vjosana still did not have the courage to tell her father in person. Instead, she sent him a message even though their tents were only a short distance apart.

The message read: “Are you ready to welcome another son-in-law?”

Her father replied calmly: “Do not rush.”

But Vjosana already knew. Her heart had decided long before her father gave his answer.

In November, Vjosana made a spontaneous decision: she booked a ticket to Skopje to meet Gazmendi’s family, without asking anyone or seeking permission.

She spent four or five days with his family and immediately felt accepted, as if she had always belonged in that home. It was the moment they both understood that what they had built through a screen was equally real in person.

They became engaged on December 29, 2023, at a warm family gathering filled with smiles, tears of joy and tightly held hands.

March 2024 brought pain no one expected. Gazmendi’s father died on March 12, and the wedding they had planned did not take place. Life paused as Gazmendi faced the loss of the man who had shaped him.

But life, as it often does, gives and takes at the same time.

During that same period, Vjosana learned that she was pregnant. Joy and sorrow met face to face: a new life was beginning amid grief for the life that had ended. Gazmendi moved to Germany and began working. Together they started building their life from the ground up—far from home, but close to one another.

Exactly one year later, on March 12, 2025, their two sons, Nil and Noarti, were born.

Gazmendi was in the delivery room. The moment he saw them for the first time was unforgettable. “When they came into the world, our love doubled all over again.” A date that had once carried only pain now also marked the beginning of their most beautiful chapter.

Today Gazmendi and Vjosana live in Germany with Nil and Noarti. Life is not always easy: there are sleepless nights, exhaustion and responsibilities that grow every day. Their life together is not perfect, but it is honest and filled with love, patience and dedication.

“Every day, we become even more certain that we chose the right person.”

Gazmendi describes Vjosana in three words: sincere, supportive and full of love. Vjosana describes Gazmendi as calm, patient and an example for the family. From a profile without a photo to a family of four, their story was never planned—and perhaps that is why it feels so real.

Gazmendi says, “I trust dua.com more than people who say, ‘Let me find someone for you.’ My experience turned out to be the complete opposite of what I expected.”

Vjosana adds with a laugh, “dua.com appeared on my TikTok and found the love of my life. I never imagined I would become so certain.”

Their message to anyone who still hesitates is simple:

“The person your mind does not expect, your heart finds. Do not misuse the app; use it and find the love of your life. One day you may be just as grateful as we are.”
