In the heart of Germany, between the vibrant cities of Hamburg and Berlin, an extraordinary love story began. Gentiana and Xhemajl, two Albanians with roots in Pristina, had spent years searching for the kind of connection they found in one another. A match on dua.com finally brought them together—and showed them that some bonds really are meant to last forever.

Xhemajl (33), a successful entrepreneur from Pristina living in Hamburg, had achieved a great deal in his career. One important part of his life was still missing: someone with whom he could truly feel at home. “I had never found someone I genuinely liked and could love wholeheartedly,” he remembers.

His search was especially personal because he wanted an Albanian partner—someone who understood his values, culture and roots. “It is difficult to feel completely understood by someone who does not share the same background,” he says.

In Berlin, Gentiana (31), a successful HR professional, was facing a very similar challenge.

When they next met, he spoke honestly about his feelings, his doubts and the loneliness he had experienced. Gentiana answered with the words that changed their future: “Whatever challenges we face, I will always be here for you.”

In that moment, Xhemajl understood that genuine love is not defeated by obstacles. “I realised I had lost six months for nothing. The right partner understands you, even through the difficult moments,” he says.

Two years after their first meeting, Gentiana and Xhemajl became engaged in an intimate celebration on October 3, 2024. In July 2025, they married in Pristina and fulfilled their dream of building a family grounded in their Albanian roots.

To them, their love is more than an emotional bond. It is a deep and lasting spiritual connection, represented by the symbol of infinity.

“When she feels sad, I feel it too. We share an extraordinary spiritual connection,” Xhemajl says.

“Always believe that you will find the person you deserve. Do not waste time—open the app and give fate a chance,” Xhemajl advises.
