When Linda from Podujeva saw Petriti’s profile on dua.com, she immediately felt drawn to him: a man from Kosovo living in Germany who could understand both of her worlds. Today, they smile in the home they share with their daughters as they remember how one curious message became the love of their lives.

Linda, 24 years old, she was raised in Germany as a child, but her heart was always connected to Podujeva and Albanian culture. She had completed her schooling and was well-established in German life, but something was missing – someone who would fully understand life between the two worlds. It was not enough for her to find only an Albanian partner or only someone from Germany – she needed someone who lived and understood both realities.

Quiet, hardworking and with strong family values, he represented exactly what Linda was looking for – someone from Kosovo who was experiencing the same experience of life in the diaspora.

For Linda, raised in Germany but with an Albanian heart, it was essential to find someone who would understand life in two cultures – someone who would know what it means to live between the Albanian tradition and German modernity.

When she saw Petriti's profile on the app and learned that he was from Kosovo but living in Germany, something sparked her interest immediately."When I found out that Petriti was in Germany and from Kosovo, that gave me the green light right away." she says confidently. She decided to write to him – a bit of a joke, a little out of curiosity.

During the two weeks she used the app, Linda had several matches, but something different happened with Petriti. After a few days of conversations on dua.com, they switched to Instagram where the conversations became longer and more personal.

"We talk day and night," i remember Linda."There was something about him that made me want to know more and more."

After two months of intense online chatting, the long-awaited moment has arrived.That was our first date. It happened in Cologne, in the midst of COVID restrictions. Petriti travelled from Dortmund where he worked, while Linda went full of emotions – it was her first meeting with a boy and feelings were mixed between emotion and nervousness.

They took a long walk around the city, talking about everything – family, dreams, life in Germany, longing for Kosovo. Two months of online chatting suddenly turned into a real, tangible connection. That walk wasn't just a date; it was the beginning of something that both felt was special.

"For Peter, it all worked out. His calmness, his eyes, and his familiarity attracted me the most. " linda says with a twinkle in her eye.

After that meeting, a year-long long-distance relationship began. Petriti in Dortmund, Linda in Stuttgart – miles that physically separated them but failed to stop the feelings that were growing every day. Rare encounters became precious moments, while video calls and messages kept their connection alive.

The challenges were real – the physical absence, the huge commodity, the uncertainty of the future. But each challenge only adds more strength to it. They learned to appreciate the small moments and build strong foundations on communication and trust.

In May 2022, after a year of long-distance love and months of planning for the future, the couple got engaged and married in Kosovo, surrounded by the love and blessing of both families. The families fully supported them, knowing that this love was true and deep.

Immediately after the wedding, they found their common home in Germany and the beautiful news did not take long – Linda and Petriti would become parents! Linda was already well established in her hometown, so Petriti decided to move in to live near her to make life easier for the growing young family.

Vlora came in December 2022, turning them into parents for the first time and filling them with an indescribable joy. Two years later, in October 2024, the family became even more complete with the arrival of Little Life.

"Peter is not very romantic." linda said, laughing."But he is a man of rare value." He continues to work hard at the factory to provide for the family, while she takes care of the girls and the house.

Their daily lives are simple but full of love. The values that unite them – family, work, respect – are the foundation on which they are building the future. The girls are growing up speaking Albanian, growing up with the traditions and culture that both parents keep alive in the diaspora.

Linda tells us with a smile that maybe even her brother found love on dua.com."In our family, we say we met on social media." she adds a sense of humour.

Today, when someone asks them where they met, Linda reluctantly tells the truth – about dua.com and their beautiful story. She advises everyone to try their luck there.
